Historically in Japan, some gardens offer to carry on strolling and to look at the park differently, at night by lantern light, accompanied by haiku readings and poetry.
Every year, the Parc Oriental offers night-time poetry walks for the whole family. This is an opportunity to enjoy the garden with a different perspective and different impressions. Enjoy a walk through the historic heart of the Japanese garden with subtle lighting where the elements are more suggested than shown, and with Japanese stories told throughout the evening. In the magic of the night, this exploration reveals other beauties, complementing your daytime visit.
The night walk is open to the public. The garden is closed between the day and night visits. Walk until 12:30 am, last entry 1 hour before closing.
At night, 6 traditional Japanese tales recorded by the Equinoxe theatre company in Cholet plunge you into the Japanese atmosphere in six places in the garden. To the sound of voices, music and visual effects, you will travel at your own pace, from legend to legend, by the light of your lantern, in the heart of ancestral Japan. Listen to the story of the Moon Princess, the Bell, Urashima-Taro, the Bird, the Mirror, and the Fountain of Youth.
